March Past Of The Guns

Troops

The review of troops about to depart from Sydney for the front, which was held on Saturday last, was different from previous inspections, inasmuch as the units were in full marching order.  The men of the Field Artillery were accompanied by their guns; the Army Service Corps details had their carts, and the Engineers their pontoon wagons (sic); and the members of the Army Medical Corps had some fine motor ambulances.  The review, which took place in Moore Park, was witnessed by a deeply interested crowd of spectators, numbering probably 10,000.  The salute was taken by the State Commandant.  Brigadier-General Ramaciotti, who subsequently expressed himself as very satisfied with the appearance and marching of the men, as well as their equipment, which was of excellent quality.
